From the Directors’ Den:
It seems as though, in the blink of an eye, 2016 came and will soon be gone. As we ring in the New Year we are excited about the possibilities 2017 will bring. We are proud of our accomplishments this year and so very grateful for the support our community has generously demonstrated in a variety of ways over the past 3 years. More importantly, as you peruse this edition of our newsletter we hope you are pleased with how far we’ve come and that you recognize how each and every one of you has been a part of our journey.
We could not have done any of this without a common belief that kids who struggle with the effects of alcohol abuse in some way deserve the opportunity to choose a better way to live. And so, our work continues.
On behalf of the Justin’s House Team we wish you all a joyful holiday season with family and friends. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

We have a Bus!:
In October we received a very generous donation in the form of a 25 seat bus. We have some work to do on it- like putting our logo on and becoming licensed to drive it but now we have a way to transport kids for our camps and various events. What a wonderful gift!
JH Culinary/Life Skills Building Day Camp:
Took place July 18-29, partnering with the Bill Wilson Center. 14 kids attended and it was facilitated by young, local chefs for the cooking classes and by community members who provided valuable afternoon workshops. The campers came away with valuable skills they can use for a lifetime!
“Building Community Days” Series:
Our program provides kids monthly activities to participate in. Events might include community service, outdoor activities, workshops, etc. and always either the preparation of family meal or ordering take out and sitting down for a meal together. These events are designed to promote personal growth, strengthen character, encourage healthy life choices and create a sense of family.
Justin’s House will continue to build community with our students from our Summer Camp. We had one day in September and will be hosting two more days in 2016. Want to come build community with our participants? Know a teen or child that would benefit? Contact us at email@example.com
